Sonicmaniac was founded by Gemini nominated composer & recording engineer Mike Alonzo.

“I’ve been fascinated with music as far back as I can remember. I began experimenting with sound at a very early age. From building crude instruments, to piano lessons at age four, to trying to play every instrument I could get my hands on. My attraction to music led me to discover what has become my lifelong passion.

My career began after graduating from the Music Industry Arts Recording Engineering program at Fanshawe College in the early 90’s. I was fortunate to land a gig at KEEN Music in Toronto as an engineer. A few years later I decided to form my own company and The Alonzo Music Company was born. For over a decade I honed my craft scoring music to picture before mentoring with audio branding guru Mike McCurlie at MJM Media. 

Over the years I’ve had the honour of working with so many businesses to help build their brands sonically. I’ve had the great pleasure of working with amazing producers, directors and film makers, providing music for a multitude of radio, film, television and multi-media productions. I’m grateful to be able to work in a field I’m so passionate about.

When I’m not collaborating in the studio, or spending time with my family, I’m on a stage somewhere with my eagles tribute band  The Epic Eagles.”
